Nagios is an open source Host, Service and Network monitoring program. Nagios is a registered trademark of Ethan Galstad.

GroundWork Monitor utilizes Nagios as the main polling and notification engine for monitoring the network infrastructure. GroundWork Monitor continues to take advantage of the new Nagios features offering faster performance while GroundWork's configuration tool supports the new Nagios directives.

Nagios plugins enable Nagios to monitor various network and system components. Plugins are required before you can start to monitor anything with Nagios.
